Rotterdam, October 15, 2019 - HousingAnywhere, the world's largest housing platform for young professionals and international students, holds a position in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranking for the second year in a row. The Technology Fast 50 is an annual ranking of the fastest-growing technology companies in the Netherlands, and companies are nominated based on their revenue growth over the past four years (from 2015 to 2018). Bart de Vries, partner at Deloitte and program leader of the Technology Fast 50 notes, “This year marks the 20th edition of the Fast 50. In all those years, we have not received as many registrations as this year. The quality and the growth rates of the registrations were extremely high. To enter the ranking this year, a minimum growth percentage of 312 percent was needed. This shows that the climate for scale-ups has improved.
The housing problems in large cities
Not only can it be difficult to find accommodation in a city with which you are unfamiliar and may not fluently speak the language, in recent years an additional barrier has been added. The growing influx in many cities has created a shortage of housing for students and young professionals. International students and expats, in particular, are experiencing the consequences. They aren’t acquainted with the city, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find housing through friends or acquaintances in the area.Seelmann:
Housing supply was always fragmented over all kinds of different channels. People searched Facebook groups, brokers and all kinds of rental sites. This fragmentation and the lack of transparency meant that supply and demand were not well coordinated. HousingAnywhere has worked hard to unleash the digital revolution in the housing market for students and young professionals with the help of new payment technology and continuous innovation. The fact that we are the fastest growing PropTech company in the Technology Fast 50 is good proof that we fulfill a great need.
